“The Gallery of Mariam and Yeranuhi Aslamazyan Sisters” is one of the unique galleries in the Republic of Armenia, where is found the complete collection of the painting, graphic, ceramic works of Mariam and Yeranuhi Aslamazyan sisters. The gallery has been working since 1987. In the gallery is preserved nearly 620 original works presented by the sisters. After the ruinous earthquake of 1988 the building of the gallery was given to the homeless people and was reopened in 2004. The gallery is a two-storied building. On the ground floor is exhibited the works of Yeranuhi Aslamazyan, and on the first floor – the works of Mariam Aslamazyan. Besides the paintings the ceramic plates by Mariam Aslamazyan, and the pottery works by Yeranuhi are presented in the gallery. Some works of Mariam Arshakovna are also stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, including “Armenian Still Life” (1955) and “Red Cactus Flower” (1957).

Mariam և Yeranuhi Aslamazyan sisters are best known for their colorful portraits, graphic works and drawings, as well as their pottery items, which makes the beauty of household items more impressive. MARIAM ASLAMAZYAN Talented national artist of the USSR Mariam Aslamazyan, who has left bright trace on the Armenian fine art of the 20th century, could solve the most important problem of her time: to fix the role of woman artist in the patriarchal Soviet-Armenian society.
