Dilijan Geological Museum offers its visitors interesting and various master classes.

• The rug making masterclass is held in the in the basement of the museum, in the hall of archeology and ethnography. The participants, together with the master, try to knit the carpet knot with woolen threads on a pre-made already woven torque. The process is guided, the history from the process of antiquity to the origins of rug weaving, specialization, decoration system, dyeing of woolen threads as work tools will introduced.
• Batik making masterclasses are held in groups of 2-5 people. A picture is made on a chiffon cloth stretched on a small wooden frame. The painting is highlighted with a special material to save time, because it takes some time to dry. The participants of the masterclass have to choose the appropriate color by painting the piece to get a beautiful work of original art. During the work, the initial process of making the batik is introduced by masters in details- from putting the piece on the frame to getting the finished work. After all this, the participants, if desired, can take the work with them.
• Carpet waving masterclasses are held in groups of 2-5 people. Pre-made on a cotton base of threads on a small wooden frame, the weaver is woven to save time. With the help of the master, the participants start working with woolen or semi-woolen threads, get acquainted with the technique of knitting. The initial execution work, the history of the carpet, the types, the peculiarity of the pattern, the different techniques of performing the fabrics are presented. After all this, the participants, if desired, can take the work with them.
• Jewelry making masterclasses are held in groups of 2-5 people. They work with copper, natural and semi-natural stones. The jewelry of the archeological department of the museum serves as an example.
• Graphics masterclasses are held in groups of 2-5 people. The participants are presented with an overview of Dilijan, the historical and cultural values of the city, monuments, nature, education, crafts and handicrafts. It talks about the history of the museum, its educational role, separate sections և originality. The types of graphics, different performance techniques of engraving are presented. We introduce the peculiarities of obtaining engraving prints from different materials. The participants choose the pre-received print (the material is copper, zinc or linoleum), paint it in the colors of their choice, after which we get a unique print on the paper with the help of a graphics machine. After that, the participants, if they wish, can take the prints - taking a piece of Dilijan with them. Hundreds of ''Dilijans'' will appear in the homes of museum visitors and, being similar to each other, each of them will have an individual story that stands out in color, shade or some other small detail.
