THIS PAGE IS THE SERVICE INFORMATION PAGE
Gyumri is one of Armenia's unique cities, where home crafts have continued to dominate the life of the population for centuries and have been central to the city's strategic position. Centuries-old blacksmithing continued in one of the most important crafts in Armenia. In the 19th century, according to the guilds, there were 247 blacksmiths. In 1986 Gagik Martirosyan was named "Best Blacksmith" of Soviet Armenia, and in 2015 he was named "National Blacksmith" of Armenia.
Today, Martirosyan owns the Triangle / Yerankyani Restaurant, named after the famous Armenian World War II film "Triangle". The film tells the story of five blacksmiths from Gyumri. The interior of the restaurant is shaped like a triangle, the idea of which is taken from the film. Gagik's master class is held in his restaurant in Gyumri, where he demonstrates techniques and tools for working with metal, some of which have been actively used for over a century. Participants in the master class can watch the master's work during dinner.
